Aviva Premiership Rugby Football Union club the London Welsh have strengthened their backline ahead of the new season as they get ready for a second relegation to the Rugby Football Union Championship in three years with the signings of four top rated young players.
To add to their resources in the back row, the Exiles have signed Brive player Kieran Murphy, Ryan Hodson of Jersey, Will Skuse from Bath Rugby and Gus Jones from the Wasps RUFC.
The 27 year old Murphy is the most experienced of the four signings made by the club and is a versatile number eight and capable of playing across the entire back row and could prove to be a very useful addition to the squad as they look to bounce back immediately from the RFU Championship. He has also made 41 appearances for the Welsh region side Sacrlets.
Hodson, at 25 years old, has already played for some of the biggest names in the Super Rugby, having turned out for the Western Force as well as the Melbourne Rebels in the Southern Hemisphere.
The 21 year old Jones is a flanker and is quite an exciting player from the whispers that emanate from the Wasps RUFC officials and has also played for some time for Oxford University.
The 23 year old Skuse is a product of the Bath Rugby academny, having been signed up for the fabled youth development course by the club in 2009 and also played for the senior squad in eight matches in the Aviva Premiership as well as having nine outings in the European Challenge Cup during his time there.
London Welsh are however, still not quite finished in the transfer dealings and many new faces are expected to walk in through the door before the season is out and the new one begins.
